She earned her BA and MA from Baylor University, studying accounting, marketing, and Spanish. She is a licensed CPA in Texas and worked for Deloitte in Dallas specializing in tax accounting methods as part of the Strategic Tax Review group. Her current research projects examine corporate charitable contributions, how nonprofit organizations' accounting decisions affect access to capital, and corporate tax underpayments as a source of financing.
